YMA Announces NEW Ténéré 700 World Raid Model

In what can only be seen as a major coup for the adventure motorcycle market, Yamaha Motor Australia has announced an all-new Ténéré 700 World Raid model. The new bike is based on the hugely successful Ténéré 700 launched in 2019 but features a wide range of upgrades that make it even more capable off-road. The new Ténéré 700 World Raid will be available in Australia from the first quarter of 2023.

Built for Adventure

The Ténéré 700 World Raid is a motorcycle built for adventure. It’s equipped to go past any previous Ténére and has the most advanced specification, including cutting-edge suspension for added confidence and comfort, better ergonomics, rally-inspired design, and multi-mode instruments; these include incoming call and text message notifications which would be helpful to many riders out there.

Built to last

The Ténéré 700 was built with the adventures in mind with new 23-litre dual side-mounted fuel tanks, which are estimated to give you a range of up to 500km so you can feel confident hitting the open road!

Compared to simply increasing the tank capacity and breadth to boost its capacity, the twin side-mounted design has many prominent benefits. By having two separate tanks that are positioned lower and placing the fuel pump in a lower position within one of the tanks, the bike’s centre of gravity can be kept nearly identical to before, despite carrying twice the fuel load as before, which also reduces the height difference between the tank and seat for a much flatter profile for increased rider mobility and easier weight shifting when riding off-road from front to rear.

Built for riders

The latest version of the Ténéré 700 World Raid features a new 890 mm high seat for a flatter profile and smoother transition between the seat and tank. The rider may move backwards and forwards with little effort when shifting their body weight to maintain control on rough terrain, thanks to this design, which is suited to both sit-down and stand up riding positions. The seat features a two-piece design, allowing the quick removal of the rear portion for the installation of accessories like a rack or luggage. The seat is composed of two different types of leather, with a high grip zone in the middle and a smoother zone that allows for greater mobility while riding.

Not only was it built with comfort in mind but also functionality for each rider with the five-inch colour TFT meter, which has mobile connectivity. The TFT meter links to the bikes communication control unit which then connects to the MyRide app which can give you a range of different options from viewing the battery life of your phone to receiving call and text message notifications. These notifications can be shown on a screen layout of your choice between the “explorer screen”, the “street screen” and the “raid screen” so it is more personalised to suit your preferences.

Personalising your screen

With the range of options available, I bet you are wondering what the difference would be between the screen layouts.

The “explorer screen” has a more modern feel to it, with all of the machine’s essential running data presented in a contemporary and simple-to-understand style.

The tachometer on the “street screen” has a circular dial and needle, similar to those seen on conventional vehicles from the analog era.

The ‘Raid’ screen is based on a typical rally racing roadbook and includes two independent journey time counters that allow the rider to view the distance to the next waypoint.

Built for all terrains

So the Ténéré 700 World Raid has already shown to be an awesome choice for adventure and for comfort but what else can it provide that would help in different terrains? Well, the Ténéré 700 World Raid is also fitted with a 15mm taller screen for extra wind protection on extended trips. Also available as standard are easily removable side wind deflectors and LED lights. The fibreglass composite material radiator panels and cockpit interior panelling are both made of robust fibreglass composite material. They also withstand significant off-roading.

It is safe to say that we are excited for this new edition to hit Australia and sure you would be too! If you would like more information or test ride a Ténéré 700 World Raid contact us!
