Key features
The YZF-R1 feature Yamaha’s unique 998cc inline four-cylinder crossplane crankshaft engine with titanium fracture-split connecting rods and offset cylinders.

A six-axis Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) processes real-time vehicle attitude and wheel speed data for the  onboard electronics, including adjustable lean-angle sensitive ABS braking system, traction control, and stability control.

The KYB fork legs on the YZF-R1 feature an internal shim stack upgraded for 2020, while the KYB rear shock also received revised internal settings.
